Proceeds from this event will be used for the following purposes:
- To enhance the current staffing levels at the Matt Talbot Center, including the retention of a full-time clinical supervisor, three case managers, and several administrative support personnel
- To enhance and increase the services provided at the Matt Talbot Center
- To initiate a Women’s Program to serve the fastest-growing demographic on the Seattle streets today and address the special concerns that affect this group
- To fund a capital expenditure plan that will allow for enhancements to the current location and commence funding for new facilities including a Women’s Center and an Interim Housing Facility for those within the first six months of sobriety
The Event will be attended by 250 guests; the primary attendee demographic will be high-net-worth individuals who are senior decision-makers within their organizations.

Founded in 1985, the Matt Talbot Center (MTC) is located in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood at 2313 Third Avenue. The MTC provides free clinical substance abuse treatment and a variety of restoration services to the homeless, addicted and mentally ill populations. The staff at the MTC are committed to restoring lives and relationships for individuals and families devastated by poverty, addiction and other dysfunctions. The MTC offers the only free, “on demand”, clinical outpatient treatment program available today. Approximately fifty men and women are enrolled in intensive Phase I and Phase II treatment, with over 400 enrolled yearly through Phase III extended and after-care. On average MTC provides over 850 open community drug and alcohol meetings each year, and serves over 10,000 meals.
MTC Men’s and Women’s programs are actively involved in the “Wilderness Initiative” recreational program. MTC also works with Immanuel Lutheran Church to manage their therapeutic shelter/residence. In addition, a large percentage of MTC clients have been assisted with housing solutions. Many clients are involved in the spiritual activities at the MTC including daily prayer, scripture services, and Sunday services, however participation in spiritual activities is not required.
2008 celebrates the fifth anniversary of the opening of the Traugott Terrace Apartments - 50 units of transitional and permanent housing located next door to the MTC. The “Clean and Sober” housing provides both hope and a home with support to maintain and build on the recovery started at the MTC.
